Who is Brad Pilon?
It is a well-known rule in life that “if you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do, and you’ll achieve the same results.”
In the field of fitness and weight-loss, Brad Pilon is the author of “Eat Stop Eat” book and blog. He is one of the most successful people you can find. Not only is he in great shape and health, he also holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Human Nutrition. He graduated from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and has worked with the top supplement companies in the world.
If you want to be successful at losing weight, then learn from Brad. Here is a brief biography of him.
Brad has always had a deep passion for health and fitness. Growing up in Burlington, Ontario, Brad already had a very large collection of Muscle & Fitness Magazine at 10 years old. When he was 16, Brad started a subscription to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. He would spend days reading the latest science research.
Naturally, Brad started studying nutrition at the university. His goal was to learn everything he could about nutrition and metabolism. He graduated with honors in the spring of 2000 and was immediately hired to work at a supplement company.
When he started working there, the company was small. Over the next six years, it quickly grew to become one of the top supplement companies in the world. His work as a research analyst for the company gave him intensive and extensive knowledge of the science – and marketing – of nutrition.
During his time at the company, Brad traveled all over the world:
- He met with leading researchers in the health and fitness field
- He attended and sponsored major science conferences
- He met with the executives of multinational nutrition companies
- … and he even had dinner with Arnold Schwarzenegger!
Even with all his qualifications and credentials, Brad still felt he could learn more about nutrition. After six years of work, he resigned to pursue a Master’s Degree in Applied Human Nutrition. It is during his time at university that Brad started writing his best-selling book, Eat Stop Eat.
Here is an interview with Brad from the Bulletproof podcast:
The hidden truth of the diet industry
Eat Stop Eat is the embodiment of Brad Pilon. The book references over 300 scientific studies, the most I have known from any book. The comprehensive research represents Brad’s passion for understanding truly nutrition and metabolism to help people become as healthy as possible.
As a quote from Brad says:
“Obtaining a proper education is important. You must have a solid understanding of the entire history of the science before you can accurately analyze it.”
There are other diet plans, workout routines and weight-loss programs that make many claims without understanding the science of nutrition and the human body. Brad’s purpose writing Eat Stop Eat is to create a book based on solid understanding of nutrition science, but also easy enough to read so people can understand it.
Eat Stop Eat reveals the truth about the diet industry. Since Brad had worked for six years in the health supplement industry, he has seen the truth. Most research done today is not for the health of mankind, but to support claims made by supplement companies to sell more supplements.
The supplement companies have an interest in keeping you fat. When you are fat, you keep buying into the latest diets and supplements to help you lose weight. But, the supplements aren’t made to make you lose fat in a safe and sustainable way. You end up spending more and more money without getting the results you want.
In Eat Stop Eat, Brad shows how you can lose weight without taking any supplements at all!
I should mention that not all supplement companies have an evil intention. There are companies that truly want to help you, but sometimes the marketing message contains too much hype. In his book, Brad shows simple ways to lose weight, without much hype and much common sense.
The most important lesson I learned from Brad Pilon is that you have to create a balance in your body to achieve safe and sustainable weight loss. To achieve a healthy body, you must create a balance between moments when you eat and moments when you don’t eat – which is why the book is called Eat, Stop, Eat.
